This press release is themed as a crisis management guide and serves as resourceful information for students at a time that regards immigration policy changes. Turning high-stakes institutional developments into a clear and supportive form of public communication. At the time, the immigration policy shifts created a climate of political stress and academic distraction that potentially hindered the success of the diverse student population. By highlighting services from the Immigration Student Resource (ISR) Center, Counseling & Psych Services (CAPS), and THINK TANK at the University, the press release provided students with a strong foundation of empowerment.

In this white paper, I examine the intersection of online course modality and student academic performance within the University of Arizona’s English Department to address limitations in student retention and comprehension caused by the accelerated, online modality of the course.  As a former student in the program, I used my own personal reflection on my experience and academic research on external sources to propose enhancements that could be applied to the course curriculum.
